For Local 86 in Phoenix, Arizona:
Applications for painting, drywall finishing (also known as taping) and glazing apprenticeship programs are accepted at all times at the Apprenticeship Office. For Local 159 in Henderson, Nevada:
Applications for painting and taping are accepted every 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:00 am. The orientation continues throughout the day. The Apprenticeship Office's phone number is 702-438-2611. The full-time JCIP Instructor is Adolf Duarte and his phone number is 702-460-5755. For floor covering, applications are accepted every 2nd Thursday of the month at 8:00 am and continues throughout the day. The Floor Covering Apprenticeship Coordinator is Louis Preciado. His phone number is 702-591-3284. The office hours are from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

For Local 2001 in Henderson, Nevada:
Applications for glazing are accepted every 3rd Thursday of the month from 1:00-4:00 pm. Apprenticeship information can be obtained at 702-563-2188. The Glazing Apprenticeship Coordinator is Rob Jorden and his phone number is 702-277-0195. The office hours are from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

All Applicants must have with them the following documents to complete an application:

1. Proof of date of birth (birth certificate)
2. Valid picture ID
3. High School Diploma or GED
4. Military Release Papers DD-214 (if applicable)
5. Social Security Card

 The apprenticeship standards provide that applications will be received without regards to race, color, creed, age, religion, national origin, disability, sex or sexual orientation.

All Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

1. Age: Be at least 18 years of age. Education: Shall possess sufficient educational knowledge to satisfactorily complete the on-the-job training and related technical instruction. A high school diploma or GED is required, however an applicant may receive a high school diploma or GED within a year after being accepted into the program. Painters and Tapers are allowed up to 3 years to complete this requirement. Physical: Shall be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the Apprenticeship program without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
2. Drug Test: Must pass a substance abuse test at the time of acceptance.

*It is also recommended that you have a driver's license, automobile insurance and dependable transportation, as many of the jobs will be across town.
